I wear glasses and they are a problem

I'm looking to buy an XTi but have a problem with the viewfinder. I wear glasses and they are a problem because of glare and smear. And with the newer LCD backs I can scratch them. It seems the viewfinder ought to protrude back from the vLCD screen more. I love a Canon and still use my old film A1. ...

Re: Storm Case Photography Applications

I have 2 storm cases, they are SWEET! Built like a tank plus the pull out foam works really nice.

Help me pick a bag

I purchased the d30 (finally, after a six month "I'll sleep on it"), and I'm VERY happy with it. I purchased the grip for it as well, and I am having a HUGE problem finding a bag that will fit around this camera ready to shoot. What do you carry your gear around in? Heres what I need in a ...

Trying for ideal lens collection

I bought the D30 about 3 weeks ago. I purchased 1 50mm f/1.8 with it. I am now looking to get serious with the lens collection but I am trying to get some advice on what to get. I have read numerous reviews on the following 28-70 f/2.8l USM CANON EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM CANON EF 35-350mm f/3.5-5.6L U...

Sharpening Techniques?

OK, so the D30 is very conservative when it comes to sharpening the raw images. This seems to be directly related to the great low-noise performance it delivers. However, many images need post-processing, in particular sharpening. So...... what techniques do you use? I've been reading about a number...

D30 in burst mode

Eye have a question: When using the D30 in burst mode, what would I see thru the view finder? Does it stay black for all the burst shots? (mirror stays up) Does it change from black to lens view like an old time movie so I can watch the subject? Does anyone use the burst mode and how do you like it?...

I'm often elected to shoot at events like hall parties and weddings. I'm strictly amateur but getting better all the time. I suspect there is no easy answer to my question but would like opinions from you folks. Here it is... I often find that my table group shots blow-out people closer to the lens ...

What macro lens to use

I'm considering buying either a 50mm, 105mm or 180mm macro (preferably sigma for the 180 or 50, and canon for the 100mm for the USM). I want the 50mm for the price and size, the 105mm for the portrait and all around usefullness of the focal length and 180 for serious macro photography. But with the ...
